Meet Maggie
A grounded approach to holding space
Hi, I'm Maggie
I live and work on Vancouver Island and respectfully acknowledge the Lekwungen and WSÁNEĆ Peoples, on whose traditional territories I live, work, and raise my family. I am committed to ongoing learning, humility, and relationship-building rooted in respect and care.
I hold Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care, and a Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of Victoria. For more than 25 years, I have worked across a wide range of settings providing clinical support to families, children and teens recovering from trauma, listening closely to discover what lies beneath the behaviours, coping strategies and stories we tell ourselves to get through the day.
These experiences deeply shaped how I hold space today — with clarity, humility, and a strong commitment to emotional safety. While my current offerings are coaching-based rather than clinical, they are informed by decades of listening, learning, and walking alongside people during meaningful moments of change.
Over time, I learned some critical truths. Insight alone isn’t enough. Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. Many women seeking help to change aren’t broken or in crisis. They are capable, thoughtful women who have realized that they are simply tired of carrying everything on their own. These points have shaped the work I offer today.
The Work I hold now

My work is rooted in what I call the Lighthouse Way — a grounded, human approach to growth that centres self-trust, emotional boundaries, and learning how to tend your own inner light.
Rather than fixing or directing, I create spaces where women can pause, reflect, and reconnect with themselves — with steadiness, support, and care. Whether through Circles, retreats, or speaking, the focus is always the same: helping women stay anchored in who they are while navigating real life.
This work is relational, reflective, and intentional. It honours both softness and strength. And it unfolds at a pace that respects the nervous system, not overwhelms it.
Writing, reflection, and the wider world
The Great Global Pause is a children’s book written during the pandemic to help humans of all ages reflect on care — for ourselves, each other, and the Earth. Storytelling has always been part of how I make sense of the world, and it continues to influence the way I speak, facilitate, and guide groups today.
Everything I offer, from Circles, to retreats and speaking engagements, grows from the same foundation: a belief that every woman carries her own light, and that with the right space and support, she can learn to tend it herself. If you’re curious about this work, you’re welcome to explore further. There’s no rush — just space to begin where you are.
